[연구실 소개]

[동남아시아주거 연구실 (Asia Research Center for Housing, ARCH) http://www.archresearch.org/
ARCH는 경희대학교 주거환경학과의 미래 특성화 전략의 일환으로 건립된 연구소이다.
ARCH는 아시아 지역에서 분산되어 개별적으로 진행되고 있는 주거연구를 학문적 교류를 통하여 통합하고, 그 연구결과를 국제적 결과물로 발전시켜, 아시아지역 주거연구의 독자성과 전문성을 정립하는 것을 목표로 설립되었으며, 현재 아시아지역 중 동남아시아 지역을 중심으로 하여, 연구와 교육에 집중하고 있다. 현재 연구분야는 동남아시아 국가에 대한 전통주거, 근대주거, 현대주거 등에 대한 다양한 주거문화, 생활양식, 주거유형, 주거디자인, 실내디자인, 주택정책 및 마케팅 등 다양한 분야에 대한 연구가 진행 중이며, 정기적인 국제학술대회(Southeast Asia Housing Forum) 개최를 통하여 지역 내의 비교문화적 관점의 연구도 진행 중에 있다.
About ARCH
ARCH is a research institute built as part of the future specialization strategy of Kyunghee University residential environment department.ARCH was established with the goal of integrating residential research that is dispersed in the Asian region through academic exchanges and developing the research results into international outcomes and establishing the uniqueness and expertise of residential research in Asia. It focuses on research and education centered on Southeast Asia among Asian regions. Currently, research is being carried out on various fields such as residential culture, lifestyle, residential type, residential design, interior design, housing policy and marketing for Southeast Asian countries such as traditional residence, modern residence and modern residence, Research on comparative cultural perspectives within the region is also under way through the Southeast Asia Housing Forum.

Seo Ryeung, Ju is a Professor of Housing and Interior Design at Kyung Hee University. She joined Kyung Hee University in 1995. She received PhD (1995) in the Architectural Design and Theory Laboratory at Seoul National University, Korea. Her research interest includes architectural planning and design in the area of housing, childcare centers and color design. She has currently focused on the research about the housing design and planning about Southeast Asia supported by NRF(National Research Foundation) since 2009. Also she has developed and run annually “the Southeast Asia Housing Program” with Kyung Hee University and University of Malaya since 2009. She recently established ARCH(Asian Research Center for Housing) as an anchor of “Asian Housing Education & Research Network” which serves as a professional network for the researchers and professionals in the area of housing studies in Asian regions.
