[연구실 소개]

도시공간정보연구실(the Lab for Urban Planning & INformatics, LUPIN)
본 연구실(LUPIN)은 도시 공간의 다양하고 복잡하며 방대한 정보를 이해하기 쉽게 체계화하고 시각적으로 구현화하며 전문적으로 분석하고 교육하는 인포메틱스(Informatics) 특화 연구실이다. LUPIN은 도시, 지역, 국토 및 글로벌 공간 단위에서 과거와 현재 그리고 미래의 시간적 변화에 관한 시공간 데이터와 관련된 이론을 고찰하고 실용적 분석기법을 개발하여 현실세계에 구현하고 상용화한다. 인구, 주거, 부동산, 주택시장 및 정책, 도시계획 및 개발 등 다양한 도시공간정보 분야에 걸쳐 다학제적 STEP (사회(Society), 과학기술(Technology), 경제·환경(Economy & Environment), 정책(Policy)) 접근을 통해 통계분석과 GIS(Geographic Information System) 공간분석을 실시하고 미래 도시공간정보 지표와 지수를 개발한다. 구체적으로 인구의 분포와 이동, 가구의 형성과 1인 가구, 초고령사회 세대(generations) 간 상생, 미래 거주환경 변화, 부동산과 프롭테크(PropTech : Property Technology), 도시 개발과 계획, 지역경제 발전과 스마트 도시 성장, 국토계획 수립과 평가 등의 연구를 수행한다. LUPIN은 정보 홍수 시대에 빅데이터(Big Data) 분석력과 스몰데이터(Small Data) 가치를 조화시킬 수 있는 인포메틱스(Informatics) 특화 인재 양성을 교육 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 LUPIN에서는 통계학, 주택시장분석, 도시주거론, 도시주거데이터 등 오프라인 수업뿐만 아니라 경희대 후마니타스칼리지의 「인구와 주거(Housing Demography)」온라인 교육프로그램 등 포스트코로나시대 시공간을 초월한 온·오프라인 교육을 지향한다. LUPIN 연구원들은 국내외 연구기관, 민간업체, 학계 등 도시계획 및 주택·부동산 분야 전문가로 진출할 수 있다.

About LUPIN
The Lab for Urban Planning & INformatics (LUPIN) is a research group specializing urban spatial informatics in the field of human settlement ranging from urban planning and development, population and housing, property technology (PropTech), real estate market and public policy. With geo-spatial data integration underpinned by the STEP (Society, Technology, Economy & Envrionment and Policy) model, LUPIN conducts scientific research developing theoretical frameworks and identifying successful strategies for urban sustainability. The interoperability has been extensively employed in numerous research projects and educational programs (via online and offline channels) in housing and urban studies, demography and gerontology (e.g., demographic transitions, social ageing, internal and international migration, residential mobility, housing affordability, property development, market analysis, regional economic growth, smart city management, city planning and strategic assessment). Thus, LUPIN researchers are expected to be such professionals as market analysts and geo-spatial informaticians in public institutions, private enterprises, and academia in areas of urban planning, real estate, and housing property industry.
